Summer Series #3 2024

2024

The free community-building event took place Saturday, August 24 at the Globeville Rec Center (4496 Grant St, Denver) and was generously sponsored by National Western Complex and Bonfils-Stanton Foundation. GES neighborhood residents and more gathered for culturally relevant live music, free food and drinks, local vendors, and family-friendly activities. Outside visitors enjoyed carnitas tacos from Don Juan Carnitas, spiritual cleansing from Strawberry Moon, a balloon artist, and a riding bull and bouncy castle. Inside visitors enjoyed live music from DJ Malaria, DJ La Molly, Katiria, and Don L & Friends. Local vendors and tabling inside also included Alto Gallery, Birdseed Collective t-shirts, CASR Promatoras, Tierra Collectiva, Green Dot Coalition, Denver Urban Gardens, CSU SPUR, and NETC.

Local vendors and tabling inside also included Alto Gallery, Birdseed Collective t-shirts, CASR Promatoras giving away LED bulbs and water-efficient shower heads, Potted Peace Project, Denver Urban Gardens, Focus Points Family Resource Center, CSU Spur, Dumb Friends League with puppies, and NETC. Inside visitors enjoyed live music from DJ Alisha B, DJ Wiley, Luckiee B, and Jon Romero y Mariposa. Local vendors inside also included Alto Gallery with prints and flower prints giveaways, Birdseed Collective t-shirts, CASR Promatoras giving away seed bombs and pine cone bird feeders, Potted Peace Project, Denver Urban Gardens, and NETC.

Free community event organized and hosted by Birdseed Collective. Featuring 8 local bands, student performances, free food, and local vendors. Produced with support from Denver Arts & Venues. 

Globeville Fall Fest 2024

This successful free event welcomed all to celebrate the season, our culture, and the Globeville neighborhood. Attendees enjoyed live music from DJ Josh.0, Venus Cruz, DJ Slickback, and Don L & Friends; live mural and graffiti art from various artists; danza performance by Grupo Tlaloc;  fun family-friendly activities including rain barrel painting, bouncy castle, family photos, Little Shop of Physics, and community planting; free food by Don Juan Carnitas; local vendors including Alchemy Ritual Goods, Denver Made, and Alto Gallery; informational booths from partner organizations GES Coalition, NETC, and CSU SPUR; a free pumpkin patch; face painting by Elena Gunderson; and family photos by Anthony Maes. In addition to activating the Globeville community and its businesses, the event also activated 4400 Pearl St, bringing life, beauty, and color to a vacant lot near the train tracks. Thanks to our sponsors Bonfils-Stanton, CIF, and Denver Parks and Rec for their generous support.

Globeville Fall Fest

Globeville Fall Festival on Saturday, October 14. Visitors, vendors, volunteers, and performers came together at the 4400 Pearl St. Pocket Park from 10 AM - 3 PM for a fun and family-friendly day.

Generously funded by a NAP activation grant and donations from National Western Center, Globeville First, and The Nature Conservancy. Included: tree planting demo and distribution; live music and performances from DJ Wiley, Danza, Los Idelias, DJ Alisha B, and Don L and Friends; rain barrel presentation; various vendors; pumpkin patch; Little Shop of Physics; fan filters; terrariums; bouncy castle; family portraits; live art from Jack Avila, Jim Salazar, Skella, Diego Florez, and Victor Escobedo; face painting; graffiti from Anthony Garcia and Lorenzo Talcott; water color painting; Don Juan Carnitas; and more!

Globeville Block Party

Birdseed Collective in collaboration with Fort Greene organized and hosted a winter public Block Party in Globeville Dec. 17 - 18, 2022. Various drop-in workshops were available free to participants, including breakdancing, graffiti, ornament-making, mural, and showcasing youth entrepreneurial skills. 

Fall Tree Planting

09/24/2022

Birdseed Collective partnered up with Globeville First RNO volunteers for a fall community tree planting with residents, stakeholders, and donors. The event offered free trees, a demo, and maintenance.
